A few months back a good friend of mine invited me to be a guest on her podcast. Jamelia is the founder of Europe's number one product discovery box, TreasureTress. Towards the end of 2018, Jamelia launched She's Obsessed, a podcast where she interviews different people from her network of game changing Black British Women for vulnerable, personal and often hilarious straight up talk exploring their various “obsessions".
My conversation with Jamelia was full of laughter, good times and great vibes (as they always are to be honest)! We spoke about being a children's author, adapting Love Thy Fro into a musical, stepping into music tour management, my belief that you can have multiple purposes in life and being bold enough to explore whatever it is you want to do in life. It was also a great reminder and motivator for me on this journey I'm on. I can't lie, I dropped some gems and, listening back, it was clear I needed to be reminded of these.
There were 3 main things I got from our conversation were:
1. I've actually done (and I'm continuing to do) some great things and, like many people, often forget to give myself credit where due.
So shout out me.
2. If you don't ask, you don't get, if you don't try, you won't know. A motto I live by that I think everyone should apply to their lives.
3. I need to get back on the ball with my website and documenting this leap of faith journey! I'm challenging myself to do better!
